Worries about winter lurking around the corner? With its cold temperatures, gusty winds and gloomy, grey days, it creates havoc with our skin and hair. Here's some tips to keep looking like summer never left.-Keeping the glowThere are loads of self tanning agents on the market, such as oils, towlettes, bronzers and powders. The safest ones are a gradual tanner.
This look is much more natural. For instant results a bronzing is easiest, but this
only last until your next shower. Very important! Wear gloves when applying a
tanning agent, do less on elbows and knees and don't tan your soles of your feet!-
Static hair Dry winter air creates static hair that may look dry and turns frizzy.
Combat this problem by using moisture rich shampoo and conditioner. Fine hair can
also benefit from an anti frizz cream.
Medium hair works well with a leave in conditioner and very curly or coarse hair
needs an overnight leave in cream or treatment to lock in moisture. Try not to use
any alcohol based produst, as this can dry out hair even more. Red nose winter
Do you always look like Santa's reindeer in winter?
Blame it on the cold weather that constricts bloodflow. When your face is then
exposed to warmer temperatures when inside, blood flows back and you're
celebrating red nose day. A quick fix trick is to cover it with a slightly green based
powder to neutralize the redness, and cover with a concealer to match your skin
tone. And always bundle up in a scarf to keep the blood flowing.-Winter lipsChapped, dry and sore lips are a problem for many in winter.
Always make sure to wear a lip balm (summer as well), preferably with sunscreen to keep lips hydrated and smooth. If colour is your thing, most lipsticks and lip glosses have built in moisturising agents and sunblocks.
